No serious injuries were reported at the scene of a vehicle found bottom-side up along Interstate 90 Friday — except for a dog reportedly ejected from the car.

Carla Destifanes, manager of the Stagecoach Inn restaurant located about a mile north of the crash, said the injured dog apparently ran on a broken leg from the crash site to her restaurant parking lot.

“Not sure from where the dog came,” said Destifanes and her staff, who are “all animal lovers.” They offered the dog some food and held it on the restaurant’s loading-dock porch and called police.

Maggie, the dog, appeared to be in shock at the time, Destifanes said. Police arrived shortly later with the dog’s owners.

The Montana Highway Patrol station dispatched two officers to the crash — six miles east of Superior — and are still investigating the crash.

Mineral County Sheriff’s Deputy Danielle Brenny, who assisted at the scene, said Friday it appeared the female driver was headed eastbound on I-90 when she overcorrected her vehicle, which caused it to flip over.

The Montana Highway Patrol has yet to release the names of the vehicle’s occupants.
